On February 20, 2026, a scientific and cultural event dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan was held in the cultural hall of the Technical College of the Tajik Technical University named after Academician M. Osimi under the title “Defenders of the Motherland,” with the participation of distinguished guests.
The event was attended by veterans of the Afghan war: Colonel Odinayev Nurahmad, Colonel Sharifov Asomiddin, Sergeant Azizov Sanginmurod Hafizovich, Aliyev Mansur Ashurovich, Kabirov Hakimjon Zayniddinovich, Chairman of the War and Labor Commission of the Shohmansur district, Sergeant Boyev Alijon Sulaimonovich, Jalolov Qobiljon — Chairman of the Primary Organization of Chernobyl Veterans of Shohmansur district, as well as the college’s faculty members, staff, and students.
The event was opened by the Director of the College, respected Nizomzoda Zokirjon Mukaram, who congratulated the participants on the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan. He noted that today the proud people of independent Tajikistan, with gratitude for peace and stability, celebrate this significant date with a high spirit of patriotism and national pride. It was emphasized that at the initiative and under the direct leadership of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan were established on February 23, 1993, during an extremely sensitive historical period.
Afterwards, Afghan war veteran Colonel Sharifov Asomiddin delivered a speech, warmly congratulating the participants on the 33rd anniversary of the Day of the National Army of the Republic of Tajikistan. He wished the students remarkable academic success and informed the audience about the history of the establishment of the National Army and the dedicated service of Afghan war veterans. It was noted that during their service, their sense of patriotism was at its highest level, and they fulfilled their duty in Afghanistan with sincere dedication and humanity, which was by no means an easy task.
At the conclusion of the event, according to the program, a cultural segment was presented in honor of the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan. Poems, songs, and musical performances celebrating peace and friendship delighted the audience and created a festive atmosphere.
