On March 13, 2026, a Republican scientific and practical conference entitled “The Contribution of Economic Digitalization to the Accelerated Industrial Development of the Country” was held in the conference hall of the Technical College of TTU named after Academician M. Osimi. The conference was organized by the Department of Science and Innovation based on the Department of Economics and Management of the college and was dedicated to the declaration of 2025–2030 as the Years of Digital Economy and Innovation Development.

The conference was attended by Firuza Muminova, Head of the Department of Digital Economy and Innovation of the Institute of Economics and Demography of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, as well as members of the administration, teachers, and students of the Technical College.

In his welcoming speech, the Deputy Director for Academic Affairs Rahmonali Odinaev greeted the guests and participants and officially opened the conference. He noted that the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, in his Address to the Parliament on December 28, 2024, emphasized the importance of expanding innovation processes and fully utilizing the opportunities of digital technologies in the economy. Therefore, the years 2025–2030 in Tajikistan were declared the Years of Digital Economy and Innovation Development.

It was emphasized that at the new stage of the country’s development, ensuring systematic development of artificial intelligence, digitalization of the national economy, and implementation of innovative technologies are among the key priorities of state policy. In a short period, thanks to the initiative and direct support of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, the foundations of the digital economy infrastructure and the legal framework of the sector have been established and strengthened.

It was also highlighted that the comprehensive use of digital technologies in the economy plays a key role in achieving the fourth strategic goal — accelerated industrialization of the country.

Subsequently, the Deputy Director for Science and Innovation Kholiqnazar Azimov addressed the participants regarding the continuation of the conference program, introduced the guest speaker, and congratulated the participants. He emphasized that the main goal of the conference was to discuss the role of modern technologies in the development of the industrial sector, strengthen the scientific foundations of the digital economy, and implement in practice the instructions of the Leader of the Nation in the field of innovation.

According to the conference program, the following presentations were delivered:

  • Firuza Muminova — Head of the Department of Digital Economy and Innovation of the Institute of Economics and Demography of NAS of Tajikistan, with the report “Development Priorities in the Context of the Address of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan (in relation to the development of the digital economy)”;

  • Zayirjan Hakimov — Deputy Director for International Relations of the Technical College, with the report “Digitalization of Industry as a Factor in Ensuring Its Competitiveness”;

  • Sahbo Khayolov — Assistant of the Department of Economics and Management, with the report “The Importance of the Digital Economy and Its Role in the Development of Production”;

  • Muhibakhon Qosimova — Senior Lecturer of the Department of Economics and Management, with the report “Tajikistan Gradually Promotes Digitalization in All Spheres of Public Life.”

After the presentations, the conference participants asked questions related to the reports and received comprehensive answers.

The participants noted the high level of organization of the conference and expressed their hope that similar scientific events of international level with the participation of domestic and foreign scholars on various economic topics will be held regularly.
