In order to implement the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, dated January 1, 2026, No. 950, and in accordance with the instruction of the Committee for Primary and Secondary Vocational Education under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the first (institutional) round of the republican competition “Science – the Light of Enlightenment” was held on February 25, 2026, in the assembly hall of the Technical College of TTU named after Academician M. Osimi.

The event was attended by the Deputy Directors for Academic Affairs, Science and Innovation, and Educational Affairs, the Head of the Academic Department, the Dean of the Faculty of Energy and Transport, heads of relevant departments, faculty members in accordance with the established commission, as well as pupils and students.

At the beginning of the event, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs Rahmonali Odinaev delivered a speech highlighting the importance of the competition in developing scientific thinking, strengthening technical and natural science outlooks, and identifying young talents. He emphasized that such initiatives create favorable conditions for improving the quality of education and preparing competitive specialists.

It was noted that the republican competition “Science – the Light of Enlightenment” is organized to strengthen young people’s interest in exact and natural sciences, identify talented pupils and students, and involve them in research activities.

Then the Deputy Director for Science and Innovation, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Kholiknazar Azimov, addressed the participants, explained the content of the competition, introduced the members of the competition commission, clarified the benefits and conditions of participation, and wished them success.

In his speech, Azimov emphasized that the faculty and students of the Technical College are obliged to support the educational policy pursued by the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, in all fields of science and knowledge. He noted that the competition was initiated by the Leader of the Nation and is conducted nationwide in four stages. Currently, the first stage is being held at the institution.

Fortunately, more than 400 students and pupils participated in the first round in the following nominations:

Mathematics (arithmetic, algebra, geometry);

Physics and astronomy;

Chemistry;

Biology (botany, zoology, anatomy);

Geography;

Information Technology;

Artificial Intelligence and Programming;

Invention and Innovation.

Participants tested their knowledge and skills in accordance with established requirements and demonstrated their level of theoretical and practical preparedness. The test questions and tasks were developed in accordance with educational standards, and the evaluation was carried out transparently and fairly by the jury panel.

At the conclusion of the first round, the commission decided to advance the selected students and pupils to the district level of the competition.

In closing, the winners of the first round were instructed to strive to enhance the college’s reputation, prepare thoroughly for the district stage, and достойно represent themselves and their institution.
