In order to implement the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan dated August 29, 2025, No. AP-862 “On holding the republican competition ‘Shahnama Recitation’ in 2026,” and in accordance with the instruction of the Committee for Primary and Secondary Vocational Education under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the first (institutional) round of the republican competition “Shahnama Recitation” was held on February 27, 2026, in the library hall of the Technical College of TTU named after Academician M. Osimi.
The event was actively attended by the Deputy Director for Science and Innovation, the Head of the Languages Department, the Head Librarian, as well as teachers and students.
At the beginning of the event, Deputy Director for Science and Innovation Kholiknazar Azimov addressed the participants, explained the essence of the competition, and emphasized the importance of holding such an event in promoting the cultural and spiritual values of the ancestors. He noted that the Shahnameh, as an immortal masterpiece, plays a vital role in strengthening national self-awareness, and that organizing this competition contributes to enhancing the intellectual and educational level of pupils and students.
Subsequently, the participants performed enthusiastically, praising the immortal Shahnameh by Abulqasim Ferdowsi, reciting passages from its famous epic tales and demonstrating a high level of knowledge and literary understanding.
At the conclusion of the event, the participants’ skills were evaluated by the jury, the results were summarized, and the commission decided to advance the selected participants to the district stage of the competition.
