On December 16, 2025, the Address of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, entitled “On the Main Directions of the Domestic and Foreign Policy of the Republic” was delivered to the Supreme Assembly of the Republic of Tajikistan. A comprehensive analysis of its key provisions and their role in ensuring economic development is of great importance.

The Address outlines the main directions of domestic and foreign policy, including the development of the economy and industry, energy, transport and communications, security and defense, science and education, healthcare, social protection, sports, tourism, and youth policy. The President presented important initiatives for further socio-economic, scientific, and cultural development. The Address serves as a strategic guideline for the country’s future progress.

Special attention was paid to the digital economy, emphasizing the need for comprehensive implementation of digital technologies to expand innovation processes.

Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the President and workers across various sectors, GDP has increased 3.4 times, and the national economy has grown at an average annual rate of 7.6%. More than 670 billion somoni have been invested in socio-economic development. Life expectancy has increased from 70 to 77 years, poverty has decreased to 19%, and household incomes have grown sixfold over the past decade. In 2025, the state budget increased by 65% compared to 2021. In the same year, 400 industrial enterprises began operations, and industrial growth reached 22%.

In 2027, the third unit of the Rogun Hydropower Plant is scheduled to be commissioned, ensuring the country’s energy independence. Nearly 60% of construction has been completed. Due to industrial expansion and population growth, electricity demand continues to rise. Over the next two years, solar power plants with a total capacity of 1,500 megawatts are planned.

In 2025, over 5.4 billion somoni were allocated for the construction and rehabilitation of 236 km of roads and other transport facilities. Construction of the country’s largest bridge over the Rogun HPP and three additional bridges has begun, with a total investment of 900 million somoni.

The Address focuses on improving living standards, creating new jobs, expanding vocational education, reducing unemployment, and supporting youth. Under the leadership of President Emomali Rahmon, national policy is aimed at sustainable development across all sectors.

The President’s Address serves as a roadmap toward achieving national goals and sustainable development. In September 2026, Tajikistan will celebrate the 35th anniversary of State Independence with significant achievements. The President consistently emphasizes that youth are the future of the nation, and educated, skilled, and patriotic young people are the foundation of the country’s prosperity.

Youth are the main driving force of society, and we are proud of their patriotism. We are confident that the young generation of independent Tajikistan will continue contributing to national economic growth and the prosperity of the Motherland.
