Today, the civil society of Tajikistan, under the wise and far-sighted leadership of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, is confidently following the path of building a truly sovereign, democratic, constitutional, and secular state. This path is not only a state policy but also a conscious choice of the majority of the noble people of the country, as historical experience has proven that the fate of the state and the future of the nation directly depend on the will, self-awareness, and unity of the people.

The greatness of a nation is first and foremost recognized through its history. History is not only a sequence of events, but also a set of lessons that every generation must properly understand. In the modern history of Tajik statehood, the role of the Leader of the Nation as a key and destiny-shaping figure is clearly evident. It was precisely during extremely complex and sensitive political and social circumstances that the Leader of the Nation managed to save the state from disintegration, lay the foundations of peace and stability, and present the Tajik people on the world political stage as a nation possessing its own statehood. This process was not accidental, but rather the result of strong will, a high sense of responsibility, and trust in the people.

State independence is not an ordinary value for the Tajik nation. It is the result of a long struggle, patience, and self-sacrifice of previous generations. At times when society faced fragmentation, instability, and despair, the urgent need for a true leader arose. The nation needed a person capable of uniting the people, instilling hope for the future, and showing the path toward peace and unity. This historic mission was entrusted to the Leader of the Nation, and subsequent experience proved the correctness of this choice.

After difficult years, the honorable and dignified people of Tajikistan united and made every effort to protect national interests and rebuild the Homeland. This solidarity and cohesion not only rescued society from the brink of war, but also created a solid foundation for the further development of the state. The return of many compatriots to the Homeland, the restoration of peaceful life, and the revival of the national economy are clear evidence of the people’s trust in the peace-oriented policy of the state.

National unity, as one of the greatest achievements of the independence period, must always be preserved and strengthened. Unity is not merely a political concept, but a social and moral value that encompasses all spheres of public life. The sustainability of independence, economic development, political stability, and social progress are impossible without national unity. Therefore, every citizen of the country, especially the youth, must contribute to safeguarding this great achievement with a high sense of national identity and civic responsibility.

Young people, as the most active segment of society, play a decisive role in the future of the state. A sense of national self-awareness, patriotism, and respect for the law must be nurtured in the consciousness of every young person. History has repeatedly shown that a society that neglects the education and upbringing of its younger generation faces serious threats. Therefore, enhancing the political, legal, and cultural awareness of youth is one of the most important tasks of the state and society.

Defending the Homeland and its honor and dignity is the sacred duty of every citizen. The Homeland is not merely a territory, but also language, culture, history, and national values that unite us as a nation. Love for the Homeland should be expressed not only in words, but in deeds: through honest labor, respect for the law, tolerance toward others, and contribution to the development of the country. Such behavior is what protects society from various threats.

In the conditions of the modern world, where political and ideological processes are rapidly changing, maintaining social stability and national security becomes especially important. The state and society must take a firm and lawful position against all forms of extremism, fanaticism, and violations of the law. The rule of law and respect for the constitutional order are guarantees of security and sustainable development of the state.

The experience of modern state-building shows that any society that places the law above personal and group interests can achieve long-term stability. Tajikistan, relying on these very principles, has managed to strengthen the foundations of its statehood and protect society from serious dangers. Therefore, fostering respect for the law and legal awareness should be one of the key priorities of the social policy of both the state and society.

In this process, the role of state institutions, educational establishments, and mass media is extremely important. They should not only provide information, but also shape civic culture by explaining that rights and responsibilities are inseparable. A society in which every individual feels responsible for the fate of the state is a strong and resilient society.

The years of turmoil became a great historical lesson for the Tajik nation. Those difficult years showed that discord, distrust, and division can push a state toward serious danger. At the same time, that period proved that the Tajik nation possesses an immense capacity for unity, overcoming difficulties, and building a new future. This quality must be preserved as a national value and passed on to future generations.

Peace and unity are not merely historical stages, but continuous processes. They require constant care, responsibility, and vigilance. Every irresponsible action and every thoughtless word can harm this great achievement. Therefore, every citizen must understand that preserving peace and unity begins with oneself. Only when this understanding takes root in public consciousness can the country be protected from various threats.

Young people are the driving force of society and the foundation of the state’s future. The future of the country depends on the worldview, values, and goals with which today’s youth mature. If young people are educated in the spirit of patriotism, national self-awareness, and respect for the law, society can look to the future with confidence. Neglecting this issue may lead to serious consequences.

In this regard, the role of the family and the school is of primary importance. The family is the first school of a person, where the foundations of morality, patriotism, and responsibility are laid. The school further develops these foundations and gives them a conscious form. Close cooperation between the family, the school, and society can play a decisive role in educating a healthy, self-aware, and educated generation.

National self-awareness is not only pride in the past, but also a sense of responsibility for the present and the future. A nation that knows and values its history can correctly choose its path of development. However, self-awareness must be formed on the basis of respect, coexistence, and universal human values, and must not turn into arrogance or rejection of others.

Defending the Homeland in modern conditions is not limited to military service alone; it is also expressed through maintaining social stability, developing the economy, raising the level of education, and resisting ideological threats.

Today, the modern world faces complex challenges such as political competition, security threats, and rapid cultural changes. In such circumstances, preserving national identity and state independence becomes especially crucial. Tajikistan can maintain its stable position only if society remains united, vigilant, and responsible.

The fate of the state and the destiny of the nation are in our own hands. This is not merely a slogan, but a great civic responsibility. Every citizen, through their behavior, stance, and activity, influences the future of the state. Only by strengthening civic culture, enhancing political and legal awareness, and cultivating a high sense of national responsibility can we confidently hope for a stable and prosperous future of Tajikistan.
